Paige Bueckers drops hint on NBA Playoffs team preference
Next season, Paige Bueckers is primed to make waves in the basketball world. Now that Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are out of the picture, Bueckers could have an incredible year as the most prominent player in women’s collegiate basketball.
Bueckers has been sweeping Instagram, as she uses the offseason to relax and get ready. She shared a carousel of images from her trip to Miami on Saturday. Additionally, it’s possible that she hinted to the NBA club she’s rooting for in the postseason.

Naturally, her major point is the extreme heat that South Florida is experiencing right now. It’s also a pun on the name of the Miami Heat, though.

Bueckers was born and raised in Minnesota, so she’s probably a Timberwolves supporter despite her homage to the Heat. With Wolves leading the Phoenix Suns 3-0 in the opening round thanks to the play of Anthony Edwards and company, it’s a great moment to be a fan of the team.

American college basketball player Paige Bueckers plays for the Big East Conference’s UConn Huskies. Bueckers attended Hopkins High School in Hopkins, Minnesota. She won national high school player of the year after ESPN ranked her as the top recruit in her class.

Bueckers won all four of the major national women’s collegiate player of the year awards that she was eligible for during her freshman season at UConn, making history as the first freshman to do so. In addition to setting program records for assists by a freshman and assists in a single game, she guided UConn to the Final Four of the 2021 NCAA tournament.
Bueckers led her team to the national championship game despite missing most of her sophomore season due to a left knee injury. Due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), she was unable to play during her junior season.

The next season, Bueckers made a comeback, guiding the Huskies to the NCAA tournament Final Four in 2024 and earning a second consecutive unanimous first-team All-American selection.
At the youth international level, Bueckers has won three gold medals with the United States. Most Valuable Player at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup was one of her victories. She competed for the senior national 3×3 basketball team and won a gold medal in the Youth Olympics in basketball. In 2019, Bueckers was named the Female Athlete of the Year by USA Basketball.
